If you're accustomed to flowing, vigorous yoga, you might be missing out on another dimension. Yoga also encompasses a calm,       introverted, and introspective side—its Yin to the Yang. Though gentler, don’t be misled into thinking it’s any less demanding.

The challenge here lies in being completely still, pushing your boundaries, and melting into long-held poses, typically ranging

from 2 to 3 minutes.  The primary goal of Yin Yoga is to target the connective tissues of the body ligaments, tendons, and fascia rather than focusing just on the muscles.  The beauty of Yin Yoga is that anyone, at any age, can practice it. With the help of yoga blocks, blankets, and straps, you'll be able to sink into the poses.  As your flexibility improves, you may find yourself needing fewer props.

What does a Yin yoga class involve?

  • Commences with a short breathing exercise to calm the body
  • Some simple warm up stretches
  • Yin Yoga poses
  • 5-minute meditation at the end.

Yin yoga is best for those who want to:

  • Increase flexibility and joint mobility
  • Elongate and stretches tight muscles
  • Reduce sciatica, back and neck pains
  • Improve posture
  • Reduce stress and promote mindfulness

If you want to experience a full-body stretch while feeling calmer and more relaxed, then Yin Yoga is perfect for you. This is a beginner-friendly class, so everyone is welcome. I look forward to meeting you all.
